Mum and Working Award – Down to the Final 6!

Posted on Posted in Uncategorized

These pioneering awards were launched over 8 years ago to celebrate the UK’s leading lights in the world of flexible working – those amazing and inspiring individuals, businesses, charities and networks demonstrating and showcasing how working practice and family-life can go hand in hand with huge potential benefits for all involved.

Here’s the nomination from one of my staff

“Working for Nicky has been amazing.  She is dynamic, professional and exciting and really recognises the benefit of employing parents in her company.  She is flexible in terms of working patterns but also supports us to utilise the wide range of skills we acquired as full time workers.  All of us are highly skilled teachers and educators and she has given us the opportunity to continue our careers whilst working at times that suit our varying needs.  As a result, the business benefits from individuals who can provide a range of different and highly sort after skills whilst also feeling as if we are part of something truly worthwhile.  The parents of our pupils often comment how they love the fact that Helen O Grady Sussex is run and staffed by local parents as they feel they are part of one big community.  Nicky is central to this.  She always donates to local charities and provides scholarships whenever possible.    Nicky is the driving force behind the promotion of Helen O’Grady Sussex as a family friendly business for both staff and customers”

The Award will be judged by a panel of leading business women, very familiar with the challenges juggling a family and a career

The winners and runners-up will be announced at the live awards ceremony and sparkling celebratory reception on March 6.
